5 SEO Myths Every Blogger Should Know About

SEO basicsModern SEO has become much complicated. You have to learn true SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to rank your blog in SERPs. Below I have discussed some misunderstandings about SEO which mostly distract bloggers and they fail to get good results even after utilizing their hard efforts.

Each High PR Link Doesn't Add Value to Your Blog's Ranking

Most bloggers believe that PR is everything and they tend to get backlinks from high PR pages without considering their quality. But you must understand this fact that PR isn't everything. There are many high PR pages on the web from where you can get do-follow links but such links will harm your ranking instead of boosting it. The reason is, these high PR pages have been spammed much and they fall into low quality category. So a PR1 backlink from a well maintained (niche related) and quality source will add more value to your blog's ranking as compared to another one which is originated from a PR6 but low quality source.

SEO Companies Don't Know Google Algorithm

Another biggest misunderstanding among bloggers is that they believe only in SEO companies and think that these professionals will take them to the top instantly. Yes reputable SEO companies and individuals can help you in doing a good SEO for your blog but it takes time. The reality about SEO companies is that they also don't know Google algorithm like you and me. Then how can you expect them to lift your blog's ranking magically? So always remember that you can do a good SEO for your blog without any outside help. Keep learning SEO and practice it. You will get good results for long term.

SEO Professionals Build High PR Crap Backlinks

Backlinks are much important in SEO and most bloggers pay others for this task. Many (bad) SEO companies are out there which sell high PR backlinks but unfortunately, such links aren't going to boost your blog's ranking. These links are poison for your blog and will kill its ranking. The reason behind this is that most of these links are built from high PR crap sources which have been declared spam by Google. You can view a list of such crap sources at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlwaynUf1m0PdFRyOUVlQVFpcHpKbXF6ZkdSWVJfOUE#gid=0. Never build backlinks from such sources nor pay any low reputable SEO company for backlinks. Always go for building backlinks naturally by your own. It will take time but will bless your blog with long term success.

Keyword Stuffing is Dead

Keyword stuffing was working once and works temporarily nowadays also but it is dead. Google has declared much earlier that keyword stuffing is an unethical practice and Google doesn't like it. So never take risk by practicing keyword stuffing on your blog. Consider an acceptable keyword density instead. It will make sure that your blog is safe against Google's punishment.

Link Diversity is Superior than Link Quality and Link Quantity

Link diversity is superior in ranking your blog. If you have a lot of quality backlinks from a single domain, these links will add lesser value to your blog's ranking as compared to a few links originated from different domains and IPs. To rank your blog well, build backlinks from different domain extensions (.com, .net, .gov, .edu) and consider IPs also. The more your link profile is diversified, the higher your blog ranks.

These were 5 SEO myths which every blogger should know to perform a good SEO. Practice them on your blog and get long term results. Good luck!
