Recent reports have shown a rising trend in the curriculum vitae embellishments and discrepancies and almost 48% of the organizations having less than 100 staff have experienced problems with vetted employees.

It is researched that younger population having low experience incorporates more discrepancies in the resume, concealing the authentic details.  A candidate under 20 years is 26% more likely to have wrong information than a resume of 50-51 year old applicant. Graduates have few discrepancies in comparison to non-graduates. Women applicants resume tends to show less percentage of discrepancies in comparison to men candidates.

Credit reports, under the Fair Credit Reporting norms, employer shall seek written consent of the employee before drawing employee's credit report. Credit report incorporates data where the employee lives, whether the employees pay the bills timely or not, has he filed bankruptcy ever or not. This information is procured by employers from credit reporting companies who sell employees profile and is later used by the organizations.

The credit reporting companies also sell the information to insurers and renters which are used for future verifications.

Verifications help the organization to filter the wrong information incorporated by the candidate in the resume. This assists corporates to draw a clear picture of the applicant and they can proceed with the necessary decision as deemed fit.
