iWeb was Apple's attempt to make it big in the self-publishing realm. The simple web development tool that offered a number of options for users to publish their on site online was released along with the iLife suite in the year 2006. Just like Blogger and WordPress, iWeb allowed users to create and publish their websites and blogs over the internet and further personalize them by adding images, videos, themes and integrate with social media. But unfortunately, the service was called off in the year 2011, when the company decided to shut down the services and offer its users some time to migrate from MobileMe to another hosting service. But the thing is, iWeb is still active and it is the MobileMe that has been shut down. Users can still create websites with iWeb and publish them online.
